Welcome!

Welcome!

UNC Asheville has a wide range of activities and opportunities in Astronomy and Astrophysics.  Our elective classes and rigorous Astronomy minor curriculum provide an excellent formal introduction to this exciting field of study. In addition to coursework, a multitude of research opportunities on campus enable students to explore cutting edge data from telescopes in space and on the ground. Many of our students are also employed part-time as docents at Lookout Observatory, which offers free public nights each month (weather permitting).  We invite you to explore our activities and opportunities here, and contact us if you’d like more information.

The only liberal arts and science campus in the UNC System, UNC Asheville offers an education that is affordable, adaptive, and endlessly relevant. We hope you’ll join us!
